The Cantum Guitar Quartet is a Germany/Austria based classical guitar quartet consisting of the guitarists Daniló Kunze and Sophie Schlaubitz from Germany and Antigoni Baxe and Panagiotis Tzortzis from Greece.
The main direction of the quartet is the interpretation and transcription of works of orchestral classical music from the world repertoire, as well as the enrichment of the existing repertoire for guitar quartets. The quartet shares its base between Weimar, Munich and Salzburg, where its members completed their studies in classical guitar at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, the Hochschule für Musik Musik und Theater München and the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg respectively.
Cantum Guitar Quartet was founded in 2022 and has been active in concerts and competitions at home and abroad ever since. The Cantum Guitar Quartet was awarded 1st prize in the chamber music category at the 2nd International Chamber Music Competition "Music in the Vineyards" (Serbia) and 3rd prize in the virtuoso category at the 19th International Music Competition in Padova (Italy). The quartet also made its orchestral debut with the Concierto Andaluz for four guitars and orchestra by Joaquín Rodrigo with the Collegium Musicum Weimar in 2024.
